一说起幼儿教育的目的、任一务,答案好象只有一个,那就是“为入小学作准备”,或“为小学打基础”。在《幼儿教育学》和《幼儿心理学》一类的书本中,有不少是以“向学校过渡”或“入学前的心理准备”作为该书的一个课题的。幼儿教育有没有自身的目的呢?这是一个幼儿教育观的问题,值得研究和讨论。在人生的旅途中,小学肯定是幼儿园的下一站。为即将到来的生活作准备,当然是必要的。但是,过分强调这一点,把它看作是幼儿教育的唯一的目的,以致忽视幼儿教育本身的目的,那就不对了。这种片面的认识,可能而且已经产生了以下流弊:

Many of the books in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Psychology are topics of this book based on “transition to school” or “pre-admission psychology.” Preschool education has its own purpose? This is a preschool education concept, it is worth studying and discussing. In the journey of life, primary school must be the next stop in kindergarten. Of course, it is necessary to prepare for the coming life. However, it is wrong to overemphasize this point and regard it as the sole purpose of early childhood education so as to neglect the purpose of early childhood education itself. This one-sided understanding may and has produced the following abuses:
