西夏佛教文化在元明两代广为流传。在明代曾广为流传,且被斥之为藏外、视为伪作的仁孝皇后感佛说陀罗尼,与台北故宫博物院藏明代泥写金字《大乘经咒》中之两部陀罗尼如出一辙,其尊胜陀罗尼又可与《瑜伽集要焰口施食仪》西夏不动金刚法师所增尊胜陀罗尼等材料串联起来,并可追溯至西夏鲜卑宝源。它们都是在鲜卑宝源汉译本基础上衍化而成,将其中带有西北方音的译音用字成规律地加以修改,不动金刚法师作品似是这一流变过程的中间环节。
