Immunosuppression is one of the most important factors leading to the development of cancer and to its maintenance. In our view, any immunological therapeutic intervention should be attempted only when patients immune system is absolutely normal. This can be achieved by chemotherapy, surgery, and by other methods. We have treated children with acute leukemia during chemotherapy-induced remission with long-term immunization with a vaccine created by one of us together with his colleagues.
