Objective: To investigate the results and sexual satisfaction of vaginal rejuvenation with elastic silicon strand.Materials and Methods: Between January 2009 and September 2010, a total of 50 patients had colporrhaphy with silicon strand at RE-S womens clinic in Seoul, Korea.Silicon strand was inserted in the fibromuscular layer of vagina with circle shape to decrease the inner diameter of vaginal cross-section.The patients were requested to assess the results of surgery in terms of experienced vaginal tightening, frequency of coitus, and enhanced sexual satisfaction 5 months after surgery.Results: Forty eight patients (96%) reported a tighter vagina and 39 patients (78%) said the frequency of coitus increased.Nineteen patients (38%) were very satisfied with sexual function after surgery and 24 patients (48%) were satisfied, whereas 7 patients (14%) were partially or not satisfied.One patients had minor surgical complication.Conclusions: vaginal rejuvenation with elastic silicon strand seems to improve vaginal tightening and enhance sexual gratification in a majority of the women.
