Aim: To examine the analgesic effects of gelsemine, a principle alkaloid from Gelsemium sempervirens Ait.Methods: Analgesic effects of gelsemine were determined in formalin-induced nociception, bone cancer-induced mechanical allodynia and spinal nerve ligation-induced painful neuropathy.The relation between gelsemine-induced analgesia and glycine receptor was also determined.
