Power consumption has become one of the biggest challenges in microprocessor design. Microprocessor power consumption in portable devices occupy an important proportion. The DVS (Dynamic Voltage Scaling) mechanism can reduce the energy consumption of a processor by reducing the operating voltage of the processor while the device is operating.
