本文以英语习语在《大学英语综合教程》(全新版)中的运用为例,总结了教材中出现的大量英语习语的主要来源及在文章中独特的意义,阐述了其所传递的文化信息对深化文章主题、激发学生兴趣的重要作用。教师通过帮助学生理解和掌握这些习语,可使学生积累一定的英美文化背景知识,进而有效地提高学生英语综合应用能力和社会文化能力。
Taking the application of English idioms in the “Integrated Course of College English” (the new edition), this article summarizes the main sources of the large number of English idioms appearing in the textbooks and the unique meanings in the articles, expounds the culture they convey Information plays an important role in deepening the theme of the article and arousing students’ interest. By helping students to understand and master these idioms, teachers can help students to accumulate a certain amount of English and American cultural background knowledge so as to effectively improve students’ comprehensive English proficiency and social and cultural competence.
