Expanding the range of applications of aluminum and its alloys in the manufacture of passenger cars is an important and evolving trend. The use of these materials can reduce the weight of the passenger car carrying structure and therefore increase its comfort and ensure the conditions under which advanced vehicle manufacturing processes are widely used. Due to its reduced weight and high corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloy, this greatly reduces the cost of vehicle operation and repair. Because of the existing corrosion of metal thin-walled body structure, repair must be disintegrated, thus greatly increasing the cost of repairs. Therefore, the improvement of corrosion resistance has a particularly important significance. The Soviet Union used aluminum and its alloys in the manufacture of passenger cars and began to use it only for the manufacture of some equipment parts and trim.
