Roja Basildos (1917-2005) is a monument to contemporary Latin American literature. Despite his exile for most of his life, his novels continue to reveal the pays and protests in Paraguay, the motherland, through profound observation and panoramic descriptions. As one of the forerunners of Latin American literary explosion in the 1960s, his works have drawn much attention due to the innovation of narrative skills, the performance of social crisis and the application of Aboriginal language and culture.
