Objective: To investigate the relationship between the telomerase activity and the occurrence and development of cervical cancer and its clinical diagnostic value in cervical cancer. Methods: The telomerase activity of fresh tissues and exfoliated cells from 34 cases of cervical cancer and 21 normal cervical tissues was detected by TRAP-ELISA and compared. Results: The positive rate of telomerase in cervical cancer cells was 88.2%, which was significantly higher than that of normal cervical cells (9.5%). The level of telomerase activity was not related to clinical stage and histological differentiation of cervical cancer. Detection of exfoliated cells The telomerase activity of cervical cells is consistent with the results of fresh tissue examination. Conclusion: Telomerase activity can be used as a tumor marker for cervical cancer. TRAP-EL ISA telomerase detection of cervical exfoliative cells contribute to the screening of cervical cancer
