Language is a tool for communication and thinking, and language is also a part of national and regional cultures that use the language. It will inevitably bear the impressions of the national politics, history, culture, customs, etc. Therefore, if you want to master a foreign language, you must understand the relevant cultural background, and consciously absorb this knowledge; on the other hand, the rich knowledge of the national conditions can enhance the ability to understand and use the language. In English teaching, influencing students’ communication, a major obstacle to reading comprehension is the lack of students’ knowledge of English cultural background.
