This paper presents a multi-zone combustion model that describes the relationship between some design operating parameters and performance and emission targets for direct injection diesel engines. The model consists of a transient hybrid spray submodel consisting of a thermodynamic sub-model calculated by chemical kinetics and a multi-zone heat transfer and emission sub-model of “spherical flame radiation”. Several models of boost and non-boost models were simulated. The test proved that preliminary results show that the results are satisfactory.
