(一) 我国档案工作有着悠久的历史,许多方面还值得我们继续探索钻研。仅以古代历史档案文件的种类来说,我认为除近年常说的甲骨、简牘及缣帛文件外,还有一些东西实际也具有历史档案的身份。譬如某些古代铜器铭文和石刻文字就很值得研究。在我国上古时期,一直把金石作为—种比较珍贵的书写材料。宋人郑樵说:“三代而上,惟勒鼎彝”(注一)。墨子也说:“古者圣王……书于竹帛,镂于金石,琢于盘盂,传遗后世子孙”(注二)。秦琅邪台刻石也说:“古之帝者,地不过千里,诸侯各守其封城,或朝或否,相侵暴乱,残伐不止,犹刻金石以自为纪”。可见古代
