The carnival of Oruro City, held on February 8 each year for three days, the theme of the carnival is to dance the “devil dance”, known locally as “Diablo” dance. Oruro Carnival originated in the early 17th century (history as 1606) during the Spanish colonial period, the local Youlu people (Indians) worship miners to protect God “Supa Hu” ceremony dance. At that time, Indian miners in Oruro often died of mine collapse. Miners in order to drive away the legendary evil spirits in the mine, praying for the gods to bless the four seasons peace, then wearing a mask of scumbags, jumped “devil dance.” Later evolved into the theme of the victory over evil, the atmosphere of hot folk carnival activities.
