The authors put forward a double dam model of crankshaft reliability design, the outer dam represents the fatigue strength of the crankshaft, and the inner dam represents the change of stress of the crankshaft of the automobile engine in many working conditions. The double dam model shows the working conditions of the crankshaft from the relationship between crankshaft strength and working stress. The reliability of the crankshaft is calculated using the conditionally reliable equivalent life theory.
