潮宗街工地位于长沙市湘江东岸,是长沙古城形成和发展史上的一处重要区域。2010年8月至2012年11月,为配合城市基本建设,长沙市文物考古研究所先后四次对该工地进行了抢救性考古发掘工作,发现了晚唐五代、宋元、明清三个时期的古城墙遗址,发现了战国至明清时期的大量水井、房址、灰坑等古代遗迹,出土大量文物,为研究长沙城市湘江东岸的遗迹分布、城市发展历程、居民生活状况以及自然环境变迁等情况提供了可靠的实物材料。
Located on the east coast of the Xiang River in Changsha City, Chaosong Street site is an important area in the history of the formation and development of the ancient city of Changsha.
