The Chinese literature from the 1920s to the 1970s is the main trend of development of the politicization of literature and art. The political utilitarian tendency and infinite national identity of “radical” have ruthlessly obliterated the aesthetic freedom of Chinese writers imagining western missionaries, The author’s “stereotyped and inhuman” illustrations of Western missionaries and the “excessive” production of text anti-colonialism. In a free and pluralistic open context, Western missionaries written in the new period gradually cleared away the cultural logic of dictatorship and instrumentalism, so that Western missionaries wrote a beautiful picture of destruction and independence. Nevertheless, the redrawing of Western missionaries in the new period leaves many creative blind spots to be surpassed.
