The paper focuses on the contemporary model of urbanization in developing countries and explores the implications of these models for rural development. Urbanization among different countries and regions in developing countries is not a uniform model, and the degree of economic and social diversity that has resulted from contemporary urbanization patterns in rural urban relations is unprecedented. Immigration and decentralization are two aspects of urbanization at the micro level. Urbanization necessarily implies a net transfer of either permanent or temporary flows from rural to urban areas, and these immigrants also have an impact on inequality in rural areas. A new feature of urbanization in developing countries is that it occurs with the decentralization of the administration. As a result of the decentralization, the number of actors influencing local development is increased. Another result is that no one can monopolize resources or external links and information.
