本文简要介绍了女性主义以及多元文化主义对于英语的影响,运用社会性别视角对《泛读教程1》中的教材文本进行了描述和分析,发现现行教材在选材和编写中存在固化性别刻板印象以及使用性别歧视语言的政治不正确问题。作者讨论了产生上述问题产生的原因,阐述了使用非性别歧视性语言对于促进教育的性别平等以及提高学生跨文化交际能力的重要性,认为英语教材编写需要提高社会性别意识,重视文化学习。
This article briefly introduces the impact of feminism and multiculturalism on English, and uses the perspective of gender to describe and analyze the teaching materials in “Extensive Reading Course 1”. It finds that there is stereotypical stereotype in the selection and preparation of existing teaching materials and Political incorrectness in the use of sexist language. The author discusses the causes of the above problems, expounds the importance of using non-sexist language to promote gender equality in education and enhance students’ ability of intercultural communication. It argues that the preparation of English textbooks needs to raise gender awareness and emphasize cultural learning.
