汽车车门都是由双层钢板即内板与护面板所组成。为了增加车门周边的刚性并使其平正、美观、关门时密封性好,要求护面板的周边把内板的周边包住。这就需要翻边、包边和压实。为完成这一工艺过程,在国内各汽车厂由于生产纲领不同采用的工艺方法与设备也各不相同。小批量生产厂,往往是人工用手锤沿车门的周边逐点的敲打来完成包边的。这种方法不用什么设备,只需一块平台(或大平板)把车门放在上面即可。但劳动效率低,工人劳动强度大,同时包边后的质量不好,车门周边不平正,影响车门与门框的密封性。
