汉语借用外来词是丰富其词汇系统的一种重要方式,同时也是汉文化对域外文化或域内各少数民族文化相容并包、博采众长的表现之一。早在先秦两汉时期,因中西交通而涌入中土的中亚词语,有些至今还活在汉语中。如“葡萄”、“苜蓿”、“狮子”、“石榴”、“琉璃”、“茉莉”、“苹果”等。到汉魏南北朝时期,随着佛教的传入,大批源于梵语的外来语进入汉语,带来了汉语词汇的历史性转折。唐宋元时期的民族战争,特别是元代,使
Borrowing Loanwords from Chinese is an important way to enrich its vocabulary system. It is also one of the manifestations of the Han culture being compatible with all cultures and cultures of different ethnic groups in the region and drawing inspiration from them. As early as the Qin and Han dynasties, some Central Asian words poured into Middle-earth because of the traffic between China and the West, and some still live in Chinese. Such as “grape”, “alfalfa”, “lion”, “pomegranate”, “glass”, “jasmine”, “apple” and so on.
