Most of the ancient Chinese buildings were made of timber frames as load-bearing structures, and the brick walls were not bearing the envelope structure. This structural system has a certain degree of elasticity in its structure, and it can be restored to its original shape soon after a large horizontal deformation, so that it can withstand certain earthquake loads without being destroyed. As long as maintenance and management are attentive, ancient buildings can be preserved for a long time. The Guanyue Pavilion of Dule Temple in Ji County, Hebei Province was originally built in Tang and rebuilt in the Liao Dynasty and two years (98 years). The two towers of large-scale wooden structures in Yingguo County, Shanxi Province, were built in the second year of Liaoqingning County (1056 AD).
