Tatum-Horsfall protein (also known as Tatmm-Horsfall glycoprotein, THG or uromodulin) was extracted from the urine by the salting-out method of Tatum and Horsfall in 1950 and was named after them. THP is the most abundant protein in the urine, which is secreted by the thick sections of Henrys ascending branch and epithelial cells near the distal convoluted tubule, which has a protective effect on epithelial cells. Adult daily secretion of 20 ~ 200mg, the average secretion of 40 ~ 50mgk. In 1985, Muchmore et al. Obtained a protein uromodulin from the urine of pregnant women, and the cDNA sequence showed that its protein skeleton is the same as that of THP. Nearly half a century, THP physicochemical properties and biological characteristics have been further
