In the past year, I have been constantly studying the education policy put forward by the party and Chairman Mao. In my study I often recalled the engineering society organized by the students in my school during the May Fourth Movement. It is an after-school organization. It has two purposes: First, anti-imperialist and anti-feudal activities, the second is to participate in manual labor. The understanding of labor at that time was biased toward physical strength and did not treat mental work as labor. Admittedly, the principle that “no one can not eat” should be considered disgraceful to think that mental workers can only live a parasitic life. The Society of Engineering is a group of dozen individuals who are after-school students. Most of its members take very strong liberal ideas and the activities can not be carried out well. Only a stone-print group has been set up. Therefore, the establishment of a lithographic group is because a classmate has a fellow lithographer who is very enthusiastic and willing to volunteer to teach us in his spare time, and we only need to be able to do a manual work. The organization was established in the spring of 1919 and had never intended to have any effect on its functioning except as a work-of-mind. However, during the May Fourth Movement, it assumed the task of printing leaflets of our student union, both cheap and timely. After the May Fourth Movement, the organization of the Institute of Engineering was maintained and all the members made one
