Objective: To observe and compare the clinical efficacy of pediatric Qiao Qing Qing Granules and ribavirin in treating children with acute upper respiratory tract infection fever. Methods: A total of 148 cases of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group was given Qiqiao Qingre granules and the control group with ribavirin granules. The differences in the antipyretic time and symptom relief were compared between the two groups. At the same time, the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were measured before and after treatment. Results: In the treatment group, the time of fever, the improvement of cough and nasal obstruction, the disappearance of sore throat were shorter than those of the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). The cure rate in the treatment group was 84.62%. The control group was 64.29%. The cure rate in the treatment group was better than that in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). After treatment, the serum TNF-α and IL-6 activity in both groups decreased, compared with before treatment, the difference was significant (P <0.01); after treatment, the levels of serum TNF-α and TNF- IL-6 activity than the control group decreased significantly, the difference was significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: The treatment of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection in children with Qiqiaoqingre granules has significant curative effect and no obvious adverse reactions in clinical observation.
