Using the documentary and symbolic combination of performance techniques, the colorful film “Strange Circle” teaches the five young unmarried young women and advocates celibacy and imprisons themselves in an invisible circle of their own. Later, after reflection, they realized their own values. As a result, this closed “cycle” was finally broken apart by the humanity of erupting. The theme of the film is novel, far-reaching artistic conception, flexible and diversified means of expression, and made some exploratory attempts on themes, conceptions, forms and styles. Even more valuable is that it suggests a pessimistic social problem. However, because the director did not grasp the relationship between ideas and the whole, he did not fully demonstrate the autistic psychology of single women, nor did he help the audience to find the social and psychological potential of single women. Therefore, it is only for the director to drill into the circle, creating a circle of “circles.”
