On the New Year’s Day of 2010, 145 paintings and calligraphies of Wang Ruyuan, a famous modern Chinese calligraphy and painting painter who likes to draw plums and birds and flowers, were exhibited at the Wenzhou Museum. This is the most concentrated and comprehensive presentation of Wang Ruyuan’s works after the founding of the People’s Republic. These works, together with Wang Ruoyuan’s artistic creation in different periods of his life, can basically sort out the process of the occurrence, development and inheritance of the Yongjia School of Painting, which is most prevalent in southern Zhejiang in the mid-Qing period through the observation of these fine works.
