我段于1969年开始使用韶山 I 型电力机车。机车所用的 ZQ650—1型牵引电动机大都是田心机车车辆工厂早期的产品。电机换向器升高片与电枢绕组开焊(以下简称开焊)问题严重。使用时间较长的电机有234台,其中装车210台。去年以来又有12台新机车陆续投入使用,装车牵引电动机72台。75年春季鉴定统计中发现,有明显开焊现象的电机(如换向器升高片发黑,绕组缩头,冒锡等)就有78台,其中属于新投入使用机车的12台,这还不包括均压线缩头的电机。如果用电压降法进行检查,就远不止这个数字了。如73年一台机车架修中,车上观察有三台电动机开焊,下车擦净仔细观察发现6台牵引电机升高片都有颜色变化。
