According to a report by Korea’s “Central Economic News”, the use of reflective glass in high-rise buildings will be limited in the future. When buildings with a certain height are built, prior investigation must be conducted on the environmental impact and facilities must be installed to prevent reflection of the glass and cause visual hazards. According to materials provided to the National Assembly on the 21st by the Environment Agency, there are 24 large-scale glass buildings with a building area of over 8900m2 in Seoul City, of which 63 buildings, the Lot Building, etc. are often in contact with residents’ livelihood due to visual and sunshine obstacles. The Environment Agency requested the Ministry of Construction to amend the “Building Law” to require that the external walls of large buildings must be reviewed by the local construction committee before using reflective glass.
