伊万·库帕拉节是俄罗斯古老的传统节日,有许多古老习俗,如点燃“库帕拉之火”等。习俗主要源于关于库帕拉兄妹的传说,人鱼和蝴蝶花是节日的重要符号。库帕拉节以爱情为重要内涵,年轻人用各种浪漫的方法占卜自己的爱情。库帕拉之夜充满魔力,神异无比,亦是邪恶力量苏醒的时刻;举行象征性的“灭巫”仪式,是库帕拉节的重要活动。与库帕拉节相关的习俗和神话传说,是俄罗斯民间文化的奇葩。
