The author of this paper tries to discuss the “exactness” of poetry translation proposed by Professor Huang Zuoyun and argues that: 1. The “word to word translation” is not desirable, and the translator should use the smallest complete original group of the original as the unit of translation; 2. Poetry translation to reproduce the artistic conception of the original poem is essential, therefore, the communication of meaning level is superior to that of the grammatical level; 3. The style of the original poem is hard to reproduce, and the translator can use the translation of “Dayton” Law instead of creating a new rhythm to correspond with the original, this is “exact ” (or “approximate accuracy”) in the translation of poetry.
