因特网的出现与蒸汽机和电的发明一样,给人类的生产、经营活动和生存、生活方式带来了根本性的变革,并已成为推动新世纪全球经济发展的最关键因素。以因特网作为主要载体的电子商务凭借其无可比拟的优势和不可逆转的趋势,极其迅速地改变着传统的商业运作模式,为人类描绘出了未来信息社会的美好蓝图。因特网在我国的发展时间虽然不长,但发展的速度非常快。1998年底,全国的上网人数为210万人,1999年底上升到890万人,短短一年,翻了两番多。但由于上网条件及网络资费等多种因素的限制,我国的网络用户构成中,绝大多数是年轻的、有较高文化水平的群体,特别是在校和毕业不久的大学生占了很大比例,普通百姓对网络的认识还很少。对我国的企业来说,大部分对电子商务的认识还很肤浅,有的还在对“要不要上网”、“上网能不能产生效益”等问题争论不休;有的认为电子商务无非就是通过网络销售商品,不一定适合企业的需要;有的认为电子商务可以发布广告或者实现在线支付,对企业确实有用,但因为技术复杂、投入巨大,只好望之兴叹;也有的企业认为我国开展电子商务的时机还不成熟,现在涉足电子商务就等于“找死”;也有的把实现网上销售看作电子商务的全部内容,简单地认为建个网站就万事大吉了;等等。笔者认为,电子商务代表着未来商业经营活动的方向,不管你愿不愿意,这是大势所趋。今天的企业如果不能充分认识到电子商务的深远意义,并尽快付之行动,那么企业明天的生存空间就会越来越小。特别是我国加入WTO 后,面对率先进入电子商务时代的国际企业的竞争将会变得束于无策。我国的企业唯有正确认识电子商务的巨大作用,从经营理念、业务流程、企业组织、生产方式、营销手段等多个方面发生根本性的转变,才能尽早把握因特网所赋予的极其难得的发展机遇,才会在未来的市场竞争中占据优势,充分领略电子商务的无限风光。

The author believes that e-commerce represents the future direction of business activities, whether you wish or not, this is the trend of the times. Today’s business if you can not fully realize the far-reaching significance of e-commerce and pay for action as soon as possible, then the business of living space will be smaller and smaller tomorrow. Especially after China’s accession to the WTO, competition from international enterprises that took the lead in entering the e-commerce era will become helpless.
