March 22 each year is World Water Day, according to the United Nations development report, the world’s water shortages will become more and more serious. The growing population, rising human demand for food and accelerating urbanization have all contributed to increasing human demand for water. Currently, 20% of the world’s population faces the problem of water shortage and it is estimated that by 2025 this figure will increase by 30%. The water shortage has serious consequences for humanity. It is estimated that every 8 minutes in the world one child dies of ill-health caused by drinking-water diseases, including cholera and dengue fever. It is estimated that by 2025, the number of people in the world without access to safe drinking water will rise to 2.3 billion, while the number of unhygienic to drinking-water people will greatly exceed the current annual rate of 5.3 million. In fact, the world’s water shortage is largely due to irrational and ineffective use of water resources and environmental pollution.
