比重瓶盛满蒸馏水或中性液体至一定标记之总重量随温度而变化,为了工作方便起见,在试验之前,可先绘制比重瓶之温度校正曲线或列成表格。若已知试验温度,即可从曲线或表格中查出该温度时比重瓶盛满蒸馏水或中性液体之总重量,借以计算土颗粒之比重。目前各土质试验室测定各种温度下比重瓶盛满蒸馏水或中性液体重量。方法是将试验用之比重瓶充满蒸馏水或中性液体置放于恒温水槽中,控制温度摄氏15—30度之间,反复称出每种温度下比重瓶盛满蒸馏水或中性液体之总重量。
