导弹的出现使二十世纪的战局发生了根本的变化。现在的导弹能从战区外发射,这种突然袭击往往能使飞机、坦克、舰艇、潜艇和其它目标处于非常危险的境地。尽管现代导弹的应用已有几十年,但有效的反导弹技术至今尚未出现。这种成功在很大程度上应归于导弹推进技术的进步。因为推进系统决定了导弹的性能,而推进系统的材料、设计和各种新方案大大改进了导弹的作战性能。
The advent of missiles has fundamentally changed the twentieth-century war situation. The current missiles can be launched from outside the theater. Such sudden attacks often put planes, tanks, ships, submarines and other targets in a very dangerous position. Although modern missiles have been in use for decades, effective anti-missile technology has not yet emerged. Much of this success is due to advances in missile propulsion technology. Since the propulsion system determines the performance of the missile, the propulsion system’s materials, design and various new solutions have greatly improved the operational performance of the missile.
