利用戏曲艺术为历史人物立传不易,要把罕见的类似女皇的作为,刻画得适度与鲜活就更难。最近观摩的京剧《承天太后》面对如上难题,在真实的历史氛围里,生动地塑造了辽朝的女英主萧太后的形象,其中的经验诚足重视。萧太后身处宋辽对峙的大背景中,双方屡屡征战,胜负的喜忧,决策的正误,是时时困扰的问题。即使是英主,也难以回避;惟其总览全局,深思熟虑,才显出其过人之处。《承天太后》没有巨细无遗地描写萧太后一生经历的全过程,只撷取在一次击溃北宋北伐军取得胜利后的短暂时刻,围绕和与战的重大决断,加以艺术表现。按照一般的思维,己方大获全胜,对方一溃千里,正可以乘胜南征夺取中原。萧太后对于进中原驭四海也颇为欣羡,但她还要考虑到战场风云变幻,要防止恃骄轻断,这就产生了心理上的彷徨犹豫。
It is not easy to make use of the art of opera for establishing historical figures. It is even harder to describe the rare act of the empress as moderate and vivid.
