In 1986, the Max Planck Institute convened a general meeting of all members in Weimar. Later, based on the resolution of the council, the Institute learned to make the decision to comprehensively reform its system of appointment and appraisal. The core of the package reform measures proposed since then is to improve the internal and external environment of the Institute's employment system and to optimize the allocation of research funding to enhance the compliance capacity of research units.
