在艺术表达的形式中,除视听信息以外,人们也尝试着再现作用于其他感官的信息。正如嗅觉信息。艺术与嗅觉的关系似乎不是特别的亲密。但随着对视听艺术的进一步研究,在影像中运用合理的视听语言表达手法,是可以引起人的嗅觉反应的。嗅觉在视听艺术中通过画面、音乐和声响来体现,最终由“记忆”让艺术作品与观者达成共鸣。当气味的记忆与影像的记忆成为观者的共同经验是,视听影像便与观者亲密而无距了。在视听艺术中我们用微妙的形式传递嗅觉,刺激观者幻想,创造出一段奇特而美丽的经历。
