通过对临策线地理环境、沙害特征及沙害现状等基本问题的研究,提出了临策铁路沙害治理基本途径,即:以建立防护林为主,工程治沙与生物治沙相结合的综合防护体系。临策铁路沿线沙害治理,不仅能够确保临策线运输畅通,而且对阿拉善、巴彦淖尔生态环境改善都十分重要。工程建成后,将形成一条连接内蒙古西部沙漠、戈壁、荒漠草原绿色长廊,不但减少了每年的清沙费和线路维护费,而且对周边地区生态环境的改善、京津地区沙尘暴的缓解也都具有十分重要的意义。
