《现代汉语词典》中,商标被定义成刻或印在一种商品的表面或包装上的标志、记号(图画、图案文字等),使这种商品和同类的其他商品有所区别。从这个定义可以看出,商品的商标是商品形象的象征,就如人的名字一样,一个人好听的名字更能让人记忆深刻,同样,一个好的商标更博得消费者的青睐。在经济全球化的今天,各国的产品汇入市场,一个企业要想在国际市场中取胜,其中一个必要条件就是要有一个好的商标。而要把一个商标翻译得形象、生动,不仅要掌握好的翻译方法,还要融合各国的语言文字和民族文化。本文通过从商品翻译与文化的关联的角度出发,分析几种著名商标的实例,来阐述商标翻译的方法。
In Modern Chinese Dictionary, a mark is defined as a mark or mark (pictorial, pictorial, etc.) inscribed on or imprinted on the surface of a good to differentiate it from the rest of its class. It can be seen from this definition that the trademark of a product is a symbol of the image of a product. Just like a person’s name, a person’s name is more memorable. Similarly, a good trademark wins the favor of consumers. In today’s economic globalization, the products of various countries are brought to the market. One of the necessary conditions for a company to win in the international market is to have a good trademark. To translate a trademark into a vivid image, we not only have to master the good methods of translation but also integrate the languages and national cultures of different countries. This article analyzes the methods of trademark translation by analyzing several examples of famous trademarks from the perspective of the relationship between product translation and culture.
