This paper presents a method that can be used to evaluate the angular compliance of a crankshaft during both pure and transverse bending in the crankcase plane during the design phase. This method is based on the use of dimensionless coefficients that characterize the effect of the main structural parameters of the crankshaft on its bending compliance.
