尽管受到申请美国签证非常困难的限制,但美国各地旅游局对于中国巨大的旅游市场仍然非常向往。日前,美联航联合加利福尼亚州旅游局、夏威夷州旅游局、华盛顿特区旅游局在北京开展了旅游推荐活动。这是美国的航空公司和旅游局首次联合在中国推荐旅游。美国旧金山旅游局市场总监郭劲松介绍,以加州—地为例,中国目前已在加州海外游客市场中名列第八位。尽管美国不是中国的旅游目的地国家,而且获取美国签证比其他国家相比有较大的困难,但在2005年也有将近146000名游客来自中国内地,与2004年相比增长了45%,预计今后每年增长幅度20~30%。
Despite the very difficult restrictions imposed by applying for a U.S. visa, the tourism administrations across the United States are still very fond of China’s huge travel market. Recently, United said it has jointly launched a tourism recommendation activity in Beijing with the Tourism Bureau of California, the Tourism Bureau of Hawaii and the Tourism Bureau of Washington, DC. This is the first time that U.S. airlines and tourism authorities jointly recommended tourism in China. Guo Jinsong, director of marketing of San Francisco Tourism Administration, introduced California as an example. China is currently ranked eighth in the overseas tourist market in California. Although the United States is not a tourist destination in China and it is more difficult to obtain a U.S. visa than other countries, nearly 146,000 tourists came from the Mainland in 2005, an increase of 45% from 2004.
