感叹词(Interjetion)是表示感叹、呼唤或应答等等的词,在英语口语里,使用极为广泛。但它是一种特殊的虚词(empty words),没有具体的含义,只是表达一种感情而已(汉译需视上下文而定);它一般不与句中别的成分发生结构上的关系,常独立于一般句子成份之外;某些感叹词不具有一般英语语音的特点,如tut—tut,whew,teh等。在英语口语里恰当地使用感叹词,说话便显得生动活泼,增加了感情色彩。反之,语言不免生硬呆板,没有生气。了解英语里的感叹词对学好口语,无疑会有一定的帮助。本文略举数例,以供教学参考。 (1)表示赞扬、欢迎或欢呼:
Interjections are words that indicate exclamation, call, or response. They are used widely in spoken English. However, it is a kind of special empty words.
