The electrochemical oxidation of 10 substituted benzaldoximes and 5 substituted acetophenone oximes was studied.The oxidation potential of these two oximes increased with increasing electron-withdrawing abilities of the substituents and their corresponding Hammett constants were linear They all have iminoxy radical formation during electrochemical oxidation, but the final products are different, and some electrochemical oxidation products are verified by control potential electrolysis and UV absorption spectroscopy.
