文化相对主义作为一种文化理解、文化态度和文化主张,越来越受到学界和社会的关注。围绕文化与相对主义的一系列理论和实践问题,事关我们国家、民族、社会的现实发展和未来走向,是我们每个人都不能回避的。今年九月底,在北京外国语大学举办的“2007文化哲学论坛”上,与会学者就“文化与相对主义”问题进行了热烈的讨论。来自国内一些科研院所、高等学校和学术报刊的学者们各抒己见,见仁见智。在不同观点的撞击和交流中,学者们提出了许多值得深思的问题,展现了对文化相对主义及相关问题多方面的理解思路和进一步研究的广阔空间。本刊特约参加这次讨论会的部分学者,以笔谈的形式概要地表达自己的观点。相信这些各具独到之处的见解会给读者以有益的启迪,推动对文化相对主义及相关问题的讨论深入展开。中国文化的发展需要高度的文化自觉,而这种文化自觉应当从对文化本身的理解开始并以此为前提。
As a kind of cultural understanding, cultural attitude and cultural opinion, cultural relativism receives more and more attention from the academic circles and the society. A series of theoretical and practical issues surrounding culture and relativism are related to the realistic development and future direction of our country, nation and society and can not be evaded by each of us. At the “2007 Forum on Cultural Philosophy” held by Beijing Foreign Studies University at the end of September this year, participating scholars engaged in heated discussions on the issue of “culture and relativism.” Scholars from some domestic research institutes, colleges and academic newspapers and periodicals express their opinions differently. In the impact and exchange of views from different perspectives, scholars have put forward many questions worth pondering, showing a wide range of understanding and further research on cultural relativism and related issues. Some of our scholarly journalists participating in this symposium have expressed their opinions in brief form. Believe that these unique insights will give readers a useful inspiration to promote the discussion of cultural relativism and related issues in-depth expansion. The development of Chinese culture requires a high degree of cultural self-consciousness, which should be based on the understanding of culture itself.
