The degradation mechanism and influencing factors were discussed by mass spectrometry and thermogravimetric analysis. The data show that thermal decomposition of CO 2 -propylene oxide copolymers can proceed in two ways: “unzipping” which begins at the end of the mountain chain or random degradation in the chain. The copolymer is purified, capped, or prepared by terpolymerization, which can effectively improve its thermal stability.
