翻译作为一种文化交流的媒介,需要面对各种文化碰撞甚至文化冲突,因而必然涉及“翻译暴力”。“翻译暴力”不是对韦努蒂理论术语violence的误读,将其violence译为“暴力”有充分的学理依据,这不仅充分考虑了术语翻译的基本要素,也充分考虑了韦努蒂的语言观以及各种后现代社会思潮对其翻译思想的影响;还体现了韦努蒂对翻译理论与实践中“政治无意识”现象的超越。在当今学术语境下,“翻译暴力”的术语化不是翻译研究的倒退,它反映了全球化语境下文化思想交流的地缘政治和时代特征,有利于拓展翻译研究的视野和领域,相关研究有待深入。
