广西海滩位于北热带,组成红树林的植物种类较少,在潮间带参与建群的乔灌木有6种:白骨壤、秋茄树、桐花树、红海榄、木榄和海漆;草木植物主要有茳芏和大米草两种。它们都富集氯和钠,属于含高量钠的植被类型,硫和总交分也比一般植物高1—3倍。每种红树林植物都有一种或几种元素的含量特别高或特别低,方属于不同的化学型。影响红树林的植物分布和生长的主要化学因子是植物本身对化学环境的适应性、土壤的组成和海水的盐分。通过调查、分析,阐明其间的规律,区别滩涂不同的环境,查明适生植物,为海滩绿化植物的选择提供科学依据。
