小谷围岛穗石村清代炮台遗址位于广州大学城外环路西侧,今广东药学院校区内,2003年8月进行了全面的考古发掘,清理出十五个残存的炮垛基座。考古调查时据村民相传为林则徐所修,为抗英的第三道防线,当年发掘结束后结合文献考证其为康熙年间所筑“石子头炮台”。但今从炮台形制、文献资料和整个清代海防发展史综合考察,穗石村的这个炮台遗存不是康熙石子头炮台,而应是道光廿三年建的两个新炮台之一。
Small Valley Weisui Shi Village The Qing Dynasty Fort site is located in Guangzhou University City, west of the outer ring road, nowadays Guangdong University of Pharmacy campus, in August 2003 conducted a comprehensive archaeological excavation, clean up the fifteen remaining base of the gun stack. According to the villagers’ legend, the archeological survey was conducted by Lin Zexu as the third line of defense against the British invasion. After the excavations were completed in the same year, the documents were compiled for the examination of the “Stone Head Fort” during the Kangxi period. However, based on a comprehensive study of the fortifications, literature and data and the history of the development of coastal defense in the Qing Dynasty, this remains of the imperial Shihcun is not one of the two new forts built by Emperor Daoguang in 1923.
