在高矿化度(约高于50,000 PPM NaCl)、高孔隙度(约高于15%)地层的套管井中,中子寿命测井仪器可以直接穿透钢管,定量地划分油、气层和盐水储集层。1963年,阿特拉斯公司首次成功地把中子寿命测井仪应用于现场,后来经过不断改进,研制成功双源距中子寿命测井仪。在未知地层孔隙度的情况下,利用中子寿命测井资料可以对地层的含油饱和度作出粗略的估价。中子寿命测井仪作为一种较成熟的脉冲中子仪器已在美国广泛应用,并提供为国外服务。
In cased wells with high mineralization (above about 50,000 PPM NaCl) and high porosity (up to about 15%), neutron life-span logging tools can penetrate steel tubes directly to quantitatively divide oil, gas and Saline reservoir. In 1963, Atlas successfully applied the neutron life-span tool to the scene for the first time, and then successfully developed a dual-source neutron life-span tool after continuous improvement. In the case of unknown formation porosity, a crude estimate of the oil saturation of the formation can be made using neutron lifetime log data. As a more mature pulse neutron instrument, neutron lifetime tool has been widely used in the United States and provided for foreign service.
